ME #MALACCA 11 is the 11th edition of Malacca, a signature production by Compagnie Voltaïk led by choreographer Christophe Gellon within the Karavel Festival in Lyon. Like the city of Malacca in Malaysia, a historic crossroads of cultures, the show celebrates cultural blending by weaving links between dancers from different backgrounds.
For this edition, Shihya Peng and Gabriel Um are invited to blend their inspirations on the stage of Théâtre Albert Camus in Bron. Together, they lead around thirty dancers in the process of professionalization to create a unique and ephemeral piece, the result of a singular human adventure.
The musical composition is by Alex Bouvier, Diane Delzant, Fabrice Daboni, Thomas Millot and Samuel Leray. Set design by Marianne Joffre.
